Heather Small (M People) has become an Ambassador for the Rio Ferdinand Foundation and will be releasing the single “United Together” in aid of the charity. The single was co-written & produced by Notting Hill Music’s Lol Hammond and will be released on Friday 12th March 2021.
The Rio Ferdinand Foundation website reports:
The Rio Ferdinand Foundation team are excited to announce Heather Small as an ambassador to the music industry for our charity.
Heather has a long and successful career as the lead singer of M People and as a solo artist, with songs such as “Moving On Up”, “One Night in Heaven”, “Search for the Hero” and the Olympic anthem “Proud”, alongside media work on shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Comic Relief sealing her place in the public eye.
Heather has long been a social activist, representing and speaking out on issues close to her heart. She joins the Foundation initially to support our forthcoming youth-led movement supporting young people to bring communities together and tackle racism. The programme will be delivered in partnership with Music Against Racism, and Heather will help to shape our grassroots work with young people and amplify their message.
In her first act as an ambassador for the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, Heather has teamed up with producer Lol Hammond to record a new track entitled “United Together” to support this work with a percentage of royalties donated to deliver training and leadership programmes for young people.
